Why YOU Need to be In the Room at Powerhouse Women 2020

I’m not normally this direct, so you know I mean it when I say that you NEED to get yourself into the room at Powerhouse Women 2020 (unless you identify as male. Sorry, you can’t sit with us.).

This special Feature Friday edition is highlighting a community oh-so-close to my heart. This community has believed in me, challenged me, supported me, and inspired me to get out of my own way.

I am so excited to share about my Powerhouse Women experiences in this post. I hope that it inspires YOU to get out of your own way, too.

everlux fit + sweat sesh!

If I had to pick ONE thing I love most about lululemon’s culture, it would be the emphasis on bringing people together.

Sunday I got to attend a fit session for the new everlux tights with my fellow female ambassadors and their friends. We enjoyed mimosas + parfaits while learning about the science of feel, fit, and function of each tight. It was glorious!

Then we were gifted a tight of our choice and were led through a restorative session with Dr Jordan of RTS Physio.

I left feeling great physically, mentally, emotionally— and did I mention my pants felt fresh even after a workout??

Today’s blog is extra fun because I have special guests offering their reviews of the tights we tried. I am so grateful they were brave + up for sharing their experience!

mindful march

“Mindfulness isn’t difficult. We just need to remember to do it.”
—Sharon Saltzberg

I relate to this quote so much. Who else does?

In this busy, fast-moving world, I find it challenging to even consider adding one more thing to my to-do list (anyone relate to this? Probably everyone.).

I have great news: mindfulness doesn’t take additional time.

I used to think that mindfulness needed to be a chunk of time dedicated to sitting still, feeling serene, and forcing the craziness of my life to calm down so that I could “just be.”

As you may imagine, that never happened.

Today I’m sharing some tips and practices I’ve used to make mindfulness a habit. I hope you find them useful!

community feature: love your brain

“At times our own light goes out and is rekindled by a spark from another person.”

—Albert Schweitzer

Community has come to mean so much more to me than ever before this past year.

I used to pride myself on doing it all on my own. I told myself I didn’t need anyone. I liked to be the person others needed; I didn’t know how to accept support from others.

Don’t get me wrong, deep down I wanted to fit in, I wanted to be part a tribe, I wanted to trust others. I just didn’t know how.

When I experienced a traumatic brain injury in August 2018, my world changed. I wouldn’t have gotten through the aftermath without community: people who understood (or didn’t) and supported me in countless ways. I am so grateful to each person who showed up for me!

In this post, I’m sharing more about traumatic brain injury and the community that has helped me develop resilience. I am so excited to introduce you to this brave community.

Thank you for reading. Xo.

travel tips

If you live life on the go, chances are you have routines that help you thrive in the crazy-world we live in.

I used to fly by the seat of my pants for travel — and I essentially lived out of my car while working 60 hours a week to put myself through school.

These days, my brain needs structure for my day-to-day. That’s why I’ve curated my favorite things for self-care, comfort, and ease. Even better, they’re all perfect for travel.

I hate to be selfish, so I’m sharing them with you! Hope you enjoy.

love your c o m m u n i t y

Are you aware of how you talk to yourself?

I wasn’t.

According to experts, negative self talk is extremely common — especially in times of stress. In today’s blog, I share about how I recognized my patterns in self talk, how my community helped me to recognize and change this pattern, and how I continue to practice self kindness.

I’d love to hear if this is something you struggle with, too. Comment here, or head over to instagram @drfoxyfit to continue the conversation.

Meet Nathan Kohlerman, founder of NeuIntention

I first met Nathan at a lululemon event (this is how most of my friendships start, to be honest). Of course, Brian already knew him — and I was struck by how genuinely he listened, asked questions, and made an effort to connect with each person in a loud, crowded space.

A few months later, I heard he was joining Scottsdale Quarter as a lululemon ambassador. I am honored to serve our community together, and introduce him to all of you!

Happy FriYAY all!
