Meet Chelsea Hamilton of Simple Jane Co!

happy Friday, fabulous friends!

I just love Fridays, don’t you? Even though Fridays are a little less “special” since quarantine, I look forward to featuring friends each Friday.

Today, I am introducing you to a ray of sunshine. She is a bad@$$ business woman. She is a loving daughter. She is a thoughtful friend. She is an innovative creator. She is a true “girl’s girl.” She is so smart, so encouraging, and so kind. In this feature, you can feel her positivity radiate through the words on this page (and in her instagram!).

lululemon FIT review : paddle edition

up this week…lululemon’s annual swim/paddle line

We’ve had record heat in Phoenix this week, so it feels right to highlight the various water-friendly wear!

In these photos, I’m wearing the Run the Waves Crop and the Swell Seeker Paddle Suit. Over the years, I have fallen in love with Lululemon‘s active aquatic line due to the function, inspiration, and tactical design features.

In today’s post, I am including:

  • a summary card of the FIT review

  • nine exercises I recommend for a day at the pool

  • a video where I highlight the product in motion

  • some links to purchase online.

If you do choose to make a purchase through your links, know that your purchase supports this blog and my mission to bring health and wellness education, mindfulness tools, and movement to as many people as possible.

I so appreciate your support!

mindful movement to reduce stress

Looking at this photo from February, I feel flustered at how quickly life has changed. Hanging out with amazing friends and never once thinking about a face mask or social distancing or any of our pandemic behaviors feels so long ago.⁣

I feel the same way when I look at pictures from before my accident. While I have come so far and I’m so grateful for my progress, I still feel discombobulated by the changes in my life and body.⁣

I’ve learned that these feelings are a part of the grief process. My brain injury and covid seem enmeshed, as I wonder, “𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘯 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘐 / 𝘭𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘣𝘦 𝘯𝘰𝘳𝘮𝘢𝘭 𝘢𝘨𝘢𝘪𝘯?”⁣

Spoiler alert: it won’t be. Instead, we adapt. ⁣

Mindfulness helps me to adapt to the ever-changing landscape. That’s why I started sharing these mindful minutes. I used this breathing tip countless times today...it helps me go from confusion to acceptance. ⁣

I hope it helps you, too.⁣

A Call to Action to Support the Health + Fitness Industry through COVID-19

On Monday, Governor Ducey ordered all gyms / fitness facilities/studios / group exercise classes to shut down to slow the spread of covid19.

Also on Monday, countless gyms, fitness facilities, group classes, and studios refused to comply.

Today’s post is a plea to the fitness industry to reconsider. This is also a plea to each and every person in Arizona (or around the world) to support in any way you can.

Please read the whole article and watch the video linked at the end.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
