local (biz) LOVE: more ideas for mom

what a Wacky wednesday…

Can I be honest with you?

Thanks.

The last thing I wanted to do today was write a blog post.

I am really stuck right now in a lot of fear, anxiety, and all the feels.

I’m in my eighth week at home… while I know how fortunate I am to have a home to be in, food to eat, wifi to write this post, and somewhere safe to be 24/7….I have feelings about it.

All of that said, I really miss my office. I miss my clients. I miss going to lululemon and seeing all of my lulu fam in person. I miss having income. I miss the freedom to go and do whatever/whenever and I miss the ability to get to physical therapy, to get to all of my medical appointments to continue healing from my traumatic brain injury.

Okay, and full disclosure, despite being home for the past eight weeks (with only essential outings and Brian reporting to the base for work), Brian has somehow gotten sick. We are on his fourth day of a high fever that came out of nowhere, with no confirmed diagnosis of anything.

My point? It’s hard to sit down and write about things I love.

And it is important to sit down and write about things (and people) I love.

So thank you for being here and giving me the space to do just that.

I just needed to get that off my chest. I think maybe someone needed to hear this to know that it is absolutely okay to be grateful for what you have, AND to grieve what you’ve lost.

Moving on :-)

As a small business owner (celebrating seven years this month!!!) I love to look at and highlight what other small businesses are doing to survive + thrive in this pandemic.

The result? I am inspired.

I think you will be, too.

Huss brewing company

They are killing the game. Not only is this locally-owned brewery offering delicious takeout services, you can buy household goods and personal protective equipment (PPE) from their new service!! GENIUS. They even have toilet paper.

Even better, they offer pickup and delivery!

I have to share their Mother’s Day gift baskets too — I am really hoping they do a rendition for Father’s Day, because this Orange Blossom basket would make him a happy camper!

hint: lots of other variations on their website!

Fully alive photography

I got to meet Tracy of Fully Alive Photography at a Powerhouse Women event. Right away, before we even talked, she exuded JOY. It was no surprise to me to find later that her instagram handle is @fullyalivefindingjoy.

Tracy is a master at her craft, and truly cares about people.

She and I were texting recently, brainstorming how to help others and utilize our expertise while social distancing. I mentioned that I would love to know how to take better photos with my iPhone. Okay fine, I said that I want Brian to learn how to take amazing photos of me with my iPhone. #instagramhusband

This woman then created a course to teach me (ahem, Brian)!

She is offering both group and individual classes via Zoom.

Whether you are running a business, taking content photos for instagram, or want to make memories of your family while quarantined, this course is for you!!

Loving yourself through loss with dr Morgan Francis

I was so excited to purchase this course created by Dr Morgan Francis. Even though I’m on an extremely tight budget, I have to prioritize my mental health.

I was fortunate enough to be a patient of Dr Francis shortly after my accident and have learned so much from her over the years.

She created this course to help you cope in uncertainty and loss (all of us!).

I asked Dr Francis if I could share a promo code with my readers (just to be clear: I do not receive a kickback for this recommendation and I purchased the course myself). I just know it’s financially challenging for so many people right now. Use GRATITUDE100 at checkout for $100 off the course.

lululemon zoom

Even in this era of physical distancing, lululemon works to bring us all together virtually!

My fellow ambassador Dr Megan Rigby (a new mama herself) and powerhouse Priscilla Perez (mama-to-be) for a Zoom sweat session. How FUN!!

Shortly before 10am on Saturday May 9, click the button below to join the Zoom video call.

This post wouldn’t be complete with some lululemon…..

As I sit here typing this up, I’m wearing the most comfortable, beautiful align leggings. I heard that sales of this legging are up by 100%, and I’m not surprised!

Treat yourself by clicking the bottom below! (Disclaimer: as a member of the lululemon collective, I will receive a commission if you purchase through this link. Thanks for your support.)

That’s all for today!

Thank you for being here. I appreciate every single view, comment, and suggestion!

What would you like to see more of???? Please let me know.

Be safe + well. 💗
